Vista/Outlook conflict?

Here goes: I just got a new laptop, a Gateway MT3423 with Vista. I loaded
all my stuff over. Everything is working fine except for the Microsoft
Office Outlook Suite, Student and Teacher 2003.

Some of my emails are never being received by recipients. They are in my
sent items folder. They are never received. The 3 recipients have checked
their SPAM folders. One of them has the same ISP as me, bdumail. I am able
to send to myself and I receive it immediately.

I have contacted McAfee. I have the Security Suite 11, they cannot seem to
find a problem. I dumbly had also installed AVG, and my ISP told me that it
was causing problems to have 2 security programs installed. I have
completely uninstalled AVG, but I am still having problems.

I have also been in contact with my ISP, and they can't seem to help, as
Microsoft does not give error messages and the emails aren't kicked back.

One weird thing is that when the email is internet based like gmail,
hotmail, etc., it always goes through but when it is a private, like aol,
etc. it doesn't.

Could there be a conflict with the outlook and Vista? I have tried all of
the obvious stuff and followed directions from both McAfee and my ISP with no
help.

No conflict with Outlook and Vista, BIG CONFLICT with McAfee and Outlook.
Disable all email scanning. For best results, remove McAfee completely,
replace it with AVG, but DO NOT install AVG's email scanning module.

Outlook 2003 is fully compatible with Vista.
McAfee may not be. I suggest you uninstall it on a trial basis,
then reboot and test your mail program again.

If uninstalling McAfee made the difference, then download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Hey, thanks for the help. I did remove McAfee completely, and installed the
AVG Suite. It did not help, but I am glad to be out from under McAfee. One
thing that I have noticed is that a forward or reply will go through, but a
new authored email usually won't. The wierd thing is that once one will go
through, then I can author a new email to that person.

While McAfee was still installed, it may have corrupted that mail
account. Delete the account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate
the account.

I just purchased a Att laptop card. I have vista, Att does not have a pop
server for vista( windows mail) or maybe it is mcafee preventing me from
setting up my new mail server???? Any help?

I'm not familiar with what all comes with an AT&T cellular
wireless card. If they don't offer a POP server for Vista, do they
have one for Windows XP? That should work.
