I've played around with Vista's backup and have been directing it to my D:
partition with no problems. In fact, I've grown to like the 'mindless'
simplicity of it.
However! Just tried out OneCare and it has its own implementation of Backup,
which is very similar, but it doesn't give the option of backing up to
another partition. This is really dumb, when the Vista "built-in" version
does. Regardless of whether it's a good idea or not to back up to another
partition on the same drive, and I'd agree it's not the best solution, but
why give the option in one version and not the other?
Now I've got to either go back to Vista's own backup, or spend money on an
external USB hard drive! Hopefully it's just an oversight from the OneCare
team, which might be rectified in a future version. Maybe not.
