Vista OEM installl

I currently use Vista home premium OEM and have reinstalled a fair few
times. Why? Because I can't stop messing around with my setup and breaking
things.

The hardware has stayed the same apart from having a gfx card and hdd in and
out

Now when I try to activate, it tells me the key is in use else where :(

I thought with OEM it locked it to your mobo and general sys setup

Do I really need to ring MS and tell them Ive reinsalled it so many times
because I cant stop fiddling?

Thanks

Only certain Vendor OEMs use the as you put it "locked to motherboard"
approach.
It is perfectly reasonable for you to have one that requires normal
activation and if you keep doing this you will eventually have to activate
via telephone.

I ended up putting all of the hardware back as it was when I first
activtated and tried again .... YAY it worked this time :D

Glad to hear it all worked out for you.

One thought, since you like to "fiddle" around, you might want to consider
making an image backup of the activated Vista partition using Acronis True
Image Home 10 or some other Vista compatible imaging software. This way, you
can fiddle all you want and restore the image back as much as you want.
