I am having a problem installing the latest Nero with Vista. It keeps on
coming back "Shellmanager is corrupt". How can i overcome this problem ?

Did you have an earlier version installed?
If so, you might try downloading and using the Nero clean tool to remove all
vestiges of the old Nero.
FWIW, the latest version installed on Vista Ultimate here without issues.
 
So did version 6, for me.
