Ok, thank you both for yours fast answer to my question!
System: P4 2.66GHz 512MB Ram OS: win 2000 pro sp4 5.00.2195
Graphic Card: Nvidia 4800 SE Titanium 128MB memory
HDD:Maxtor 80GB internal PATA (2 partitions NTFS: 8GB (win 2000) and 30GB
NTFS (Programs)
HDD: Maxtor internal PATA 120GB not new and used but just LLF and not
partitioned (here I want install VISTA)
MB: Intel D 845 PESV bios: 03/17/03 8.0 version but an upgrade is available
05/15/03 9.0 version (I can upgrade if needed)
-Trying to install 32 bit RC2 version of VISTA
Problem: Vista during the install ask for drivers. Please note that Vista
MUST be installed under Win 2000 because during the installation an Internet
connection is required to proceed, to download updates and register the Key
code.
I've tried also to install from boot using the cd of Vista but also in this
case the driver is missing. In this case installing from boot is displayed the
following message:
Load driver:
A required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing.
If you have a driver floppydisk,cd,dvd or usb flash drive, please insert it
now.
When I want to install under win 2000 same message but instead od cd/dvd
drive device is the "secondary IDE channel" driver missing and also here a
"load driver" button is present to load this driver with "Browse"
Installing VISTA under win 2000 on the 120GB HDD (before LLF the 120GB hd)
all the partitions on this hd were visible; and the window of Vista appear
asking which partition I choose to install. The partition that I choosed was
a NTFS 50GB partition and was visible as G:\ drive but choosing this one the
message that is not possible install in this partition appear because the
driver is missing
hope is clear the problem.
Thanks
Regards
Alberto
