Vista MM 6 vs. Vista MM 2.6

I want a friend to be able to edit movies I make on my Vista system, but they
only have XP. Will they be able to read the file if I use 2.6? Does 2.6 work
in XP?

Can Vista support both vsns on the same system or does that mess things up?
 
You should only install 2.6 if 6 doesn't work. I believe both do not
co-exist on the same pc. I've not tried a 2.6 project in a 2.1 version, so
can't comment on that.
