Vista Minesweeper crashes

Quite often when I am plaing minesweeper (a mission-critical application), it
freezes for no apparent reason. The game box goes white and the rotating
wait indicator shows up. It then no longer responds.
The only way to get the game back is to close it and restart.
Has anybody seen this? Is there a workaround or an update?

I have got a new laptop with Windows Vista home premium. I have started
having the same problem you mention. I would also like to find a solution.

I think I got something. My laptop cam with a Norton Security 90 days trial
program. When I run it analyzing the computer, minesweeper appears again and
I can play it normally, while it is running.

Thanks but it doesn't help me. I do not have any Norton programs and I am
trying to keep them off this new computer since I have had major problems
with them in the past.

Also, my computer came without any "craplets" (preloaded trialware amd
"free" offers.

I have spotted another discussion that might help: "Problems with Games
included in Vista". The conclusion reached there appears to be that problems
come from the drivers of the video card. I have to read it through and check
it. I hope it may help you as well.
