i have vista with microsoft 07, premium edition. i had floppy file created on
earlier version of windows. this floppy contained a resume which i had no
problem using prior. i downloaded and filed this floppy in documents on vista
2007, each document (cover letter) i create and combine as (2) attachments
and forward via email. the older version, the resume can be read by the
recipient, but the new document(c.l.) created by 07, vista shows up totally
messed up, garbled. I email with windows mail. drawing right from my
documents file. i know the floppy is not messed. why can't i email properly?
thanks

It's not a Vista nor Windows Mail problem.

Word 2007 uses a different file format, and saves it with a .docx
extension.
Save your file in an older .doc format, using File - Save As..

dave sorry not to get back sooner. have trouble navigating. thanks worked as you said. it confuses me though. why the compatibility problem. it seems i have to include with each e sent with attachment an explanation. it almost seems that this is a microsoft instilled premeditated plan. it could take years for everyone to switch to docx. am I wrong? again thanks for yor help. fox.
