I am setting up a Vista machine for a family of four, each one has iphones
and/or ipods. Each one has their own login.
I set up itunes for user 1 fine, BUT, it looks like when user 2 logs in and
launches itunes, it is trying to access user 1's music folder and gives an
error.
Can someone confirm what is happening, and can itunes handle this multiple
user setup?
Thank you.

Have you checked here?

Check the first result (from Apple). If the first method doesn't work, try
the second or third.

Yes, I have done extensive searches on this, there's info on how to do
multiple users w/ one library and one user w/ multiple libraries, but not how
to do multiple users each with their own library

Just a guess, but you might need to install Itunes while logged in as
each individual user in order to create the proper registry entries.

Did you click the link I provided? It mentions 3 methods. The first method
to try says have each user set it up under their own Windows login. The
second method says set it up with one library using a different playlist for
each device. The third method says how to set up new libraries.

If you're saying your PC is confusing method one with method three, that you
set up multiple user logins and properly created multiple libraries, but
each login wants to reference the same library, you might want to stick with
the shared library using multiple playlists method or you should look for
additional information on that problem from Apple.

That could be, if the program has the option of install for "all users" or
"current user". I've had some programs do that, most just install for all
users, can't remember what iTunes did.
