I downloaded the iso image and tried to install the new OS. My hardware meets
the minimun system requirements, but I still got an error on the second step
for installation. It said that it could not install the files needed for the
version I picked. Since I could not find what version I had downloaded, I
selected "Business" which is the first option from the version list. I
downloaded my iso from
http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/rc1/en/download.htm with the
download manager 32bit.

1. See Jane's answer to Blondie:

Did you tick the box to go online and get updates for the install? Does
this still happen if you choose not to go online and get updates before
installing?

This error code is usually associated with getting updates.

2. In addition, did you burn at 1x or 2x as strongly recommended by
Microsoft, and did you validate your downloaded ISO as recommended on the
download page?
