when it was time to pick sides, he either chose linux or Apple,
now he's pissed, can you blame him?

Gotta defend yer gang colors, no matter the cost

His reward? He gets to stay with linux or Apple.

I have all, linux, mac osx, solaris, aix, 98, xp, 2003, visa, at home,

I see no difference, just adapt for what you need and you like.

Now *that* makes general sense.

However there is a difference, which is what allows the choice of the right
tool for the right job.
Otherwise they'd all be hammers

I supprt a complete toolbox.

If Vista is stupid, I have a good idea for you.

DON'T USE IT.

Nobody is forcing you to use it. Go get Windows XP if you want to use
Windows but not Vista. Go get Solaris if not. Or Ubuntu Linux. Or Red
Hat Linux. Or SuSE Linux. Or Madriva Linux. Or Linspire Linux. Or Mac
OS X. Or Amiga OS 4. Take your pick. We don't care what you think.

Another Microsoft butt kisser heard from.

What about this... When you spend at least $160 for a upgrade (home
premium) or $200 for Business upgade you expect Windows Vista to do
what it claims it can on the box and on Microsoft's blizzard of web
sites shameless promoting all it can do.

Its called being objective. Vista has a new pretty face. That's about
the only plus I've seen. Your comments also are simplistic. Once you
install Vista, XP is gone. For people like me that probably run
circles around simpletons like you that probably use your computer to
play games and download porn, suggesting to simply go back to XP or
try something else is not just laughable, but insulting if you only
understood the large investment in sweat and time not only in
mastering dozens of Windows software packages of all types, most
complex business software, but also the cost of replacing it to switch
to another platform or even the agony of again having to reinstall it
all from scratch is simply ludicrous as far as a suggestion.

I take it then you loaded an untested OS on your machine without having
an image of the drive. I loaded Vista had, some problems and restored my
XP installation all within a couple of hours. Obviously backup software
wasn't one of the dozens of software packages that you mastered.

Obviously another fool heard from that doesn't have a clue and jumps
to conclusions. I have full backup of my nearly 1 TB worth of
applications and data files, yep that's TB... and obviously I'm a far
more experienced user then you using all kinds of sophisticated
software you probably never heard of.

Simple question, if Vista is untested, and I won't aruge against that
obvious statement, why is Microsoft selling it as a finished product?

A second question for wannabe experts. How long do you think it takes
to restore a system as large and as complex as mine?

That's roughly 1,000,000,000,000 bytes or stacks and stacks of DVD's.
