i guess i don't do enough on computers anymore to be prompt with evaluations,
but here are a couple of points i might like to see addressed...
in my evaluations, i generally hit the registry and the mmc to see what i
can convert back to old interface for the short term, so that i can help
those who have a larger learning curve...most of what i would do is do-able,
except...
1. did i overlook a procedure that would allow me to replace that StandBy
button with the ShutDown button? why do i have to hunt for the button that
actually turns the system off?
2. with the demise (welcome, i might add) of the floppy drive, would it
have been too unreasonable for microsoft to bundle a few drivers for jump
drives into the operating system? i find myself having to move my data onto
other devices (cd's, smaller jump drives that dell might have been nice
enough to post drivers for) in order to get to the data...
i find it worth saying that the jump drive issue is a deal breaker...i have
already reverted a desktop back to xp...i may give the notebook a couple more
months (or until i'm tired of the annoyance) to see if someone (microsoft,
lexar, sandisk...really doesn't matter) decides to pick this ball up and post
some drivers...
