I Used the new windows Vista Build 5744 (rc2), but I have a probleme with the
installation.
I did a clean installation.
The first step of the installation does normal (Copying files)
The second step (expanding files) goes to 26% and then crash
with a message:
Windows cannot install required files. The file does not exist. Make sure
all files required for installation are available, and restart the
installation. Error code: 0x80070003.

I have same problem with beta2 rc1 5728 Build.

Then I reset my computer and go to the bios and my Hard Drive is gone.
Then I shutdown my pc en hard drive is back. I install Windows XP
Professional SP2 again and runs normal wit no errors during setup.
My iso file is not corrupt, I did a md5 check
Is there a solution for this problem?

These are my computer spefications:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1,67 GHZ)
512 MB RAM DDR400
Maxtor Diamondmax10 200GB IDE Hard Drive
MSI Geforce 6800LE graphics card 128MB WDDM-Support
Mainboard ASUS a7v880
Soundblaster Audigy SE

I had same problem, and I found out that it was an reading error on the dvd i
burned.
I made a new one at 2x speed and the installation went fine

i have try three ways to install vista
1. i have unpacked the iso files to my hard drive and then install
vista(same problem)
2. i have burned at the lowest speed (same problem)
3. i build my hard drive out and built it in another pc then works the
installation fine

can it be that my bios settings are wrong or another problems

Hello same problem here but without specific error code. I have had same
