There is no MS Fax in Vista Home Basic/Premium. You have to upgrade to
Business/Ultimate to get it. Most people find that using a third-party
program is more economical. People have reported good results with Snappy
Fax. I can't comment on Snappy Fax or other programs since I use a
standalone fax machine.

Is there MsFax in Vista Home version?
No. Windows XP Business and Ultimate come with faxing ability, not
other versions of XP.
You have three choice:
1. Upgrade your version of Windows.
2. Obtain third-party fax software.
3. Buy a stand-alone fax machine.
My personal preference is choice number 3. I bought an inexpensive
($20 on sale) fax machine.

back in 1994, they changed to WinfaxPro and now SYmantec sold it to
Thought Communications which now updated/redesigned and sells it as
"faxTalkPro Centter"

My new printer just does print, copy, and scan. I like the new printer
better for scanning because it has a flat bed. My old printer does print,
copy, scan, and fax. The new PC doesn't like the old printer (they didn't
bother making a Vista driver for it), but the fax should work fine without a
PC connected. It's simplest to use a regular fax machine for documents
which are already printed if you have one. To send documents which are on
the PC which you don't have a printed copy of, I'd look for a good free

I'd avoid paying for software if at all possible. Spending money for
software is a last resort, if it does something no free software can do
which you really need to do. There's so much free software now there's
usually an alternative.

Usa FaxTalkPro instead, you can google for it.
They acquired WinFaxPro years ago, which if you remember 10+ years ago used
to be Delrina Fax.
I am not sure if you're 18 year old maybe you don't care, but it was the
BEST FAX ever.
Now it's called FaxTalkPro, bug fixes, modern interface, designed for Vista,
but the core remains good old WInfaxPro

Not correct. It's probably not in all versions, but I can attest that
Windows 7 RC has fax software within it.
