Hi,
I downloaded the image/Iso file of the Vista Bata to a CD Disk.
I put it into the computer and I received a error message- This is not
a valid win 32 program and can not run.
Is this correct? Did I do something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

It has nothing to do with Agent. It has to do with whether the news server
you are using carries them. For example, point Agent to the news server
msnews.microsoft.com, and it will find them.

You did not download Vista Beta 2 to a CD. It won't fit on a CD. What did
you download to your hard drive and what did you do with it? Are you sure
you downloaded the correct version for your processor?

To get Vista newsgroups, Open Outlook Express. In Outlook Express go to
Tools | Accounts | Add (or New) | News.
Set up an account for this news server:

msnews.microsoft.com

The server is free and does not require you to logon. This news server
carries over 2200 newsgroups related to Microsoft products and keeps
messages at least 30 days.

For more detail see
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm

For a Vista newsgroup:

In a news reader like Outlook Express:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

On the web:

To report bugs get the tool here:

Did you download the x64 image? If you did then one can assume your machine
is 32 bit and needs the x86 version.
Either way,as both files are over 2.5GB you wouldn't be able to fit them
onto a CD, you would need a DVD.

What files are visible on the CD?

I see on the created cd-rom disk.
1. docs folder
2.efi
3.sources
4.support
5.upgrade
6. has these files-
setup.exe--autorun--bootmrg---bootmfg.efi---

I do not have a DVD disk to burn these files to as of yet. By the
middle of next week I will re-burn these files to a DVD disk and try
again.
Am I doing something wrong? Or am I missing files? If so, where do I
get them?
The help site states
1.If windows automatically detects the DVD- the install now screen
appears. Click INSTALL NOW OPTION.
2.If it does not start automatically-Click START, Click RUN, Type
drive letter:\setup.exe, and then click OK.
I only get-Not a valid win32 application.
Thanks in advance.

You are missing a LOT of files. The Vista DVD is well over 2gb in any
version--most are over 3gb,and a few are over 4gb.

Hi,
I downloaded it from
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvista/get_it.mspx

I filled out the form and then downloaded the iso/image file to a
folder on my C:\ drive. Then I used Nero to burn it to a cd-rom disk.
It does not work of course.
Can anyone post the correct web download site.
I have e-mailed Microsoft and I am still waiting for a response.
Thanks in advance.

The requirements say it is an ISO image that must be burned to a DVD, *not*
a cd.
You must have DVD ISO imaging software included with nero, and a DVD
recorder.

Were did you download Vista from? Just clicking on the properties of my copy
of Vista it states that the size is 2.51GB so there is no way that this is
going to fit onto a 750MB CD.
While the folders you are displaying are correct it makes me wonder whether
they are actually empty. The sources folder, for exapmple, should contain
2.45GB (477 files in 73 folders).
