Vista has become Unsuable

I am (was) using build 5884. I have had very few serious issues.

However, I recieved patches August 14 & 16 which have been very ditrimental
to my system. I have been watching these forums expecting to see people with
similiar issues but I have not seen anyone else come forward. I logged onto
Vista yesterday (8/22) and there were a couple patches but they made no
different.

Issue 1: IE is no longer usuable. When I start it up, the applicaiotn opens
to a blank screen and hangs. If I leave it open and start up another instance
of IE it will start and actually work. However, after browsing a few pages,
it too will freeze.

Issue 2: When shutting down it can no longer turnt the PC off. Yesterday, I
did a shut down and went home. When I came in this morning, the PC was just
on. It shuts down to a point that the screen is blank.

Issue 3: Initially I was happy with performance. It is now VERY sluggish.

I am curious if anyone else started having issues after the 8/14 patches.

build 5472 seems to be affected, too.

At my machine none of the windows show anything. They just hang.

I could not reproduce one of these problems.

My build is 5384. August 20 (US time) was "D" Day foor me on this system.

PcCtlcom.exe is a problem. Tries running but "can't" ?? Error reporting also
seems part oof the problem.

This system will not fully boot, loads the desktop but at about 45 secs, it
blue screens, reboots, and loop!!

It's also on a AMD64 3500, K8Combo, SATA machine, and works 100%.

Go figure ??

I have build 5384 installed and running but everytime I check my report
errors find solutions nothing is found apart from one highlight of the day
'will be fixed with RC1.
At the beginning issues were found but now I don't think the build we have
is active as far as beta testing goes now :( there have been a lot of other
builds released which would indciate all the driver problems or similar we
have will not be fixed or reports will not be read at this stage. I have all
updates which seem to be fine as Vista is still running but without any
changes which would make a difference. I hope we are still supposed to be
going on with the build but unsure if we still report anything.
