MS, I was a computer geek before it was trendy. Knowing computers use to mean
writing code, not surfing the internet. It seems like the more popular
computers have become the dumber the interface is. you replaced complete menu
options with a short list, hid sytem files, replaced diagnostics with
meaningless help windows. and yes i did try rebooting! Windows Vista seems
well suited for my 7 year old and my mother. but you seem to have forgotten
about those of us who understand something about how computers work but don't
care about pretty graphics. Your advocates say it is easier to find files...
Well "dir *.*" was very easy. even XP had tracability to the simple filing
system of old. In disc defragmenter it doesn't even give you a graphic of
the status! Also there seem to be hundreds of programs running in the
background that seem to do nothing but eat up memory and invite lock ups.
I am not a programer or power user any more and I can not stay on top of all
of the changes with each release. But I do know more than most novices
I am glad you are trying to bring computing to soccer moms but please don't
forget the users who supported you and used your systems since DOS 2.x!
