Is anyone having problems with this everytime I try to download a game even
one that's supposed to work with Vista I get the Error message "The Game
Launcher has stopped working. Any ideas would be very gratefully received -
its driving me nuts!

Hi Guys

No! sorry no-one has replied with any ideas for a solution as yet! If
anyone out there can help us PLEASE, PLEASE, get in touch, we would love to
hear from you.

Why? Why? do companies release these programs - charge us - then expect the
customers to sort the problems out for them. Good job if you can get it I
say! I am beginning to hate Vista & wish I'd never bothered nothing seems to
want to work with it & although I'm not really a techi person, I can't see
what is any better than it was on XP.

If anyone does come up with anything I will post it immediately for you.

Backup your data, restore Vista from your manufacturers restore DVDs, run
all windows updates and get latest drivers, reinstall games, pray, start
games.

The game launcher is just the game thing that starts games, what happens
when you just startup the game from it's start menu icon? I mean the game
launcher isn't part of the game per say.

Best of luck. If you're still having problems, which games (just list 1 or
2) that you're having problems with, what have you tried so far to fix the
problem, what is the make and model of your computer, if it's a custom
computer what components are you using?

Gotta help us before we can help you. You might try contacting the game
makers if you're really at a loss for ideas, lots have great tech support
people on staff.

Still having problems with your Game Launcher loading in Vista? Thanks to
Oberon Media techs the problem has been resolved (at least for me). Try this:

If you are receiving the DRM activator error message do the following to
correct the issue.
1 - Left click on Start
2.- Right click on Computer
3 - Left click on Properties 4 - Left click on Advanced System Settings
5 - Under Performance click on Settings
6 - Left click on Data Performance Settings (on my computer the tab said
Data Execution Prevention)
7 - Click on TURN ON DEP FOR ESSENTIAL WINDOWS PROGRAMS AND SETTINGS ONLY.
8 - Click on Apply and then OK.

UAC: (User Account Control)
Open up Control Panel, and type in user account into the search box. You'll
see the link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off". Click it.
Uncheck the box, and reboot your computer.

Good Luck!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I DID WHAT YOU SAID AND THEN RESTARTED MY LAP TOP. IT
NOW WORKS !!!!!!!!!

I have followed the above directions word for word and I still cannot
play some of the games I downloaded from Shockwave. I have Vista Home
Premium, And some of the shockwave games work and some of them don't. I
don't know what to do, I tried running in compatibility mode, in
administrator mode, but it still doesn't work. please help.

Shockwave is a web protocol like Flash, is there a particular game that
you're having problems with? Don't just say some work, some don't. Tell us
which games work, and which ones do not. List like 5 from each list,
include links and we can try them out.

More than likely the games you are playing haven't been tested on Vista.
Check the website where you got the game, if the requirements only say
Windows XP support, then you'll have to tweak them to get them to work, if
they work at all.

Who you should be bugging is whoever made the game. for assistance (if any
is available).

never had any problem like that but mine wont let me play my zoo tycoon game
it all the animals from each of the 3 games
