Hi, for me Vista seems to freeze (not even any more mouse movement) when
running utorrent (after a certain amount of time... sometimes 5
minutes,somtimes 30)
Other users seem to have the same problem:
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=11671

Some Quotes:
The verdict is in:) The problem does not only occur with torrent clients!
DC++ also causes the 5456 build to freeze.
The strange thing is that Soulseek poses no problem at all.

I notice in the system event log states: "TCP/IP has reached the security
limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP >conntect attempts" just
before the hard-lock occurs.
Bitcomet 0.70 poses the same problem with 5456 but I regret to say that
Azureus 2.4.0.2 with jre 6b2 doesn't cause this crapy >behaviour of 5456.

really strange thing, any ideas?
(besides lowering the amount of connections?)

winmx runs .

Exactly what it sounds like - XP also limits the number of connections under
SP2, though it doesn't lock up when that limit is hit. Reduce the global
maximum connections to something like 50 to start with. If Vista locks
again, lower the number and try again. If it works for a good while (a few
hours, with files seeding/downloading), raise the number a bit. It's never
done that to me... I think my max connections is still set to 250 under Beta
2.

Beta 2 worked fine, but the Build 5456 (which came after the "free for
everyone" beta 2) won't stop freezing...

Probably better ask in your TechBeta groups since the folks here are still
on 5384.

I've got the Built from my MSDNAA management person at University, so I
don't have any way of connecting to the TechBeta group or connect
(which is great... as some of the big reports I filed within the last beta
were answered but I can't gain access to them... way to go :-/ )

Which of these are and are not Java apps? I am just wondering because I had
the same problem with Java causing errors that crashed not only Vista, but
sometimes XP and even Linux because it runs at a lower level. Both Azureus
and Limewire caused my laptop with Vista to completely crash, but not any
other program has. Beta versions of Limewire have cause problems for me
before by causing errors in Java that have caused Linux and XP Pro to crash.

Hi,

Check this out
.NOTICE: It seems that most, if not all, Java-based Windows applications
disable Aero Glass. This is only temporary and the effects are restored when
the program is closed. This issue has been fixed in the latest builds of
Java 6

You can get Java 6 here http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/ea.jsp
Both Limewire and Azerus work great for now-(i;ve heard!!!--LOL) but
they do
Jeff
