Hi,

Do't know with what change in system to correlate this: in the
Explorer view of the drive "C:\" and "C:\Program Files\" I see that
these 2 folders are treated as Music folders rather than All Items
folders, i.e. I see Album, Artist, etc. Hiw can I get rid of this?
Opening Organize->Properties for these 2 folders doesn't present you
with a "Customize" tab, so I can't choose to display these folders as
regular, non-music folders. Any help? Thanks!

Try this

Click on Organize
Folder and Search Options
View Tab
Find and untick 'Hide protected Operating system files'
Click OK

This enables you to see the a file called 'Desktop.ini'

I just created a blank folder and set to pictures and my
Desktop.ini in that folder shows

[ViewState]
Mode=
Vid=
FolderType=Pictures

Your program files folder probably has a Desktop.ini too but
I would not expect to see this information contained within
it.

Just take a look and see what is there.

Right click on the folder. Left click on properties. Left click on
customize. On drop down menu choose "All Items". Note the check box for
"Also apply this template to all subfolders".
