Hi Everyone, I just got a new Vista machine and you can't set up file and
folder views like XP. I want to see the native view of my files, with
drives, hierarchies, yellow folders and all, you know like the old Window
3.1. Does someone make a program I can install to mangage my files without
using the Vista views? This really sucks.

Thanks Donald. Have you used this? I was just reading about Vista in that
it's Explorer only shows links to your files, no matter where they are on the
drive. Seems like an easy way to loose track of files physically located in
folders that I want. I dont like this hands off blind apporach to file
managment. This sounds like microsoft dummed down Vista for the average use,
but I don't see how high end users would ever like this.

G,

Yes, Vista is using some NTFS features that have not been used to that
extent by XP.

I'm using XYplorer since years, but not under Vista (I'm still a happy XP
user). However, I know for sure that XYplorer has many happy Vista users.
That's why I recommended it. Just try it: it's a 2MB no-install software (so
your system or registry won't be altered by it -- you can run it from a USB
stick), and you get a (almost) fully functional 30-day free trial. There's
not much to lose here.
