If it is the 'only' operating system on your PC then a reformat would be the
best option. Other than reformatting there really isn't an 'uninstall'
option.
On a dual boot system, i.e., where you have XP on one partition and Vista on
another it would be easier to download the freeware VistaBootPro
application, install it, Run it and the click on the bootloader tab. On the
bootloader tab click on the 'uninstall the vista bootloader' option and then
click Apply. finally reboot the machine. You will now find that, instead of
having a boot menu appear asking whether you wan to boot into Vista or 'an
earlier version of windows' you will now be booting straight into XP or 2000
or server, whichever operating system you are dual booting with. Once booted
into, say XP it is a simple matter of deleting the partition which Vista was
installed on.
