Does Vista not have a "boot.ini" file, or some equivalent to steer the boot
to the esired OS in amulti-boot situation? I can't find a boot.ini on my
new Vista system.

Hi Jay--

Boot.ini has been replaced in Vista with BCDEDIT Boot Configuration Data
Editor (a command prompt application.)

There are further articles on the use of BCDEDIT on the Technet and MSDN
