Vista effect on powerpoint

Hi. I have two machines where I work to support different user types. One
machine is 64bit Vista with Office 07. THe other is 32bit xp with Office 07.

I do most work on my Vista machine. I have noticed that when working with
powerpoint07, I have had LONG delays when saving. It can take 15 - 25
seconds just doing a normal save. I have also noticed when I run a show on
that machine, I am getting a 2-4 second delay when I try to advance slides.
This is with NO slide transition effects.

When I open the same presentations on my XP machine in PPoint 07, I get nice
fast response.

Any idea what could be causing the delays on my Vista machine?

Maybe Vista is doing background tasks. Check the task manager to see what
is running. Indexing automatically runs and defrag could be running also.
Check it out.

I have had the indexing turned off for a while now and defrag is not on
automatic. I have made sure when testing this, that as little is running as
possible. not even anti-virus. Shhhhh! dont tell anyone.

I have really been trying to nail down the issue since I dont want to be
dealing with users screaming about this being slower than before when we
upgrade their os.
