Vista Duel install

What if I re-format C:\ and D:\. Install Window XP Pro. on C:\ drive,
Install Vista 64 bit on D:\ drive. Would Vista be a full install than as 64
bit?

Not sure what you are asking. What do you mean will it be a full install?
Yes you can dual boot the two. Anytime x64 is installed, unless x64 Vista
is already there and you're upgrading that to a different x64 version, it
has to be a clean install.

I think that you have given an answer that I was looking for concerning
installing Vista to another hard drive. One other question I may ask you
would there be a Lic. issure should I do this, my reason is that I have not
been able to install ATI x1600 vidoe display drivers for Vista. Only one
will install. When I install XP Pro. two are installed. I have not had Vista
to work like it should with just one Display driver. Maybe by installing XP
on one drive, and Vista on another it might fix my problem. What I have read
was that XP has to be installed first, and than Vista. Stll checking until I
really so anything at the moment.

You're welcome. If the Vista version is an upgrade version, then by it's
license you cannot have both Vista and the qualifying OS installed at the
same time. It's one or the other. To dual boot Vista and XP you need a
full version of Vista, either retail or OEM, or two licenses for XP, one to
be used for the qualifying OS, and one for the dual boot installation.
 
I have the full version, which is Retail. Since my last post to you, I found
out that ATI does have a Video x1600, x1650 display driver problem with both
versions (32 bit, 64 bit ) Vista. The last update (Feb 21, 2007 ) will not
work. They are working on a solution as I type. The fix will come out with
the next build of Vista. So for me it's best to just wait and see.

Ok, with a full retail version you can dual boot XP and Vista. Yes drivers
are still in issue for both x86 and x64 Vista Good luck.
