I installed Vista Ultimate and am having hardware problems. The latest is I
cannot install my new Lite-On DVD burner, model #LH20A1H186C. Does anyone
have idea of where I can find drivers?

You have to check the mainboard drivers for the IDE or SMbus, if they aren't
installed correct this is the problem.
see if there are any question marks in device manager (or exclamation marks)

Thank you. Yes, there is an exclamation mark in device mgr beside the drive.
I am neophyte. What shall I do?

Hi Cat,

Do you have another DVD drie that works? If so, insert the Drivers CD that
came with your computer/motherboard and install the drivers for the IDE or
SMBus. If you have an Intel chipset, you can also download the drivers from
the Intel web site.

If you don't have a DVD drive that works, but you can still connect to the
internet, go to your motherboard/Computer maker's website, and find the IDE
or SMBus drivers (or both) and download and install them from there. You'll
need to know the type of computer or motherboard you have to do this, of
course.

Good luck,

If you have 64 bit Vista downgrade to 32 bit and avoid the months of problems
that no one can fix. I am angry that they even sell 64 bit Home Premium as
almost no consumer software works or will load or print. You can down grade
under your sofware license, finding the disk will be hard. I have two Vista
boxes and the 32 bit Vista works just fine. cardog
