I made the huge mistake of assuming that purchasing the downloadable version
of the upgrade would be easy. I thought it would be a simple DVD ISO but no
its three files one of which is an exe that is suppose to extract the files
from the other two and the launch the setup. Well that should be easy enough
right. Wrong after the extraction bar completes it pops up with the error
"Cannot extract Windows Vista Setup to your hard drive. Please ensure that
you can create files and folders in the same folder where VistaSetupPrep.exe
was downloaded". This makes absolutly no sense because it has already
extracted all the files(im not sure if its all of them but it is a lot) but
yet it won't launch the install. I have tried every possible way I could find
to disable the read only property of the folder but had no luck. I can't find
any other thread out there to help with this problem so I don't know if I am
the only one with the issue or the only one dumb enough to buy this version.
