I have a fresh clean install and can hardwire to the internet but can not
find my wireless network. Even hard wired to the network it can not find it.
I have updated the drivers for the USRobotics usb adapter and still nothing.
Help

What are your IP addresses?

How are IP addresses asigned?

DNS addresses?

WIN Address?

I'm having the same problem. All my other PCs (both laptops and desktops)
quickly "see" my wireless LAN. I'm running DHCP all the way. Are you
suggesting hard-coding a static IP in the Vista machine?

God I hope not.

I can see the network and not get past our Actiontech DSL router. I have no
idea how to make this get on line, and all my other PC's are on the same
systems. I just built the system just for Vista and can not get on line to
have any fun with it. :-(

I can get online wired, but not wireless. Other problems (using an HP nc4000
laptop): 1) sound is garbled, no matter what I listen to; 2) unable to
install certain mainstream apps, like Flash MX 2004, Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (full
version). I'm about to abandon the Vista beta and stick with XP until RC1
comes out. Thanks, and good luck!

Jim,

My installation of Vista could not see my wireless network either. I don't
broadcast my SSID and basically my system is a closed network. What I had to
do was to broadcast my SSID and then I was able to define my WEP code and get
the system online. I use MAC addressing for access to the Internet and/or
wireless network. I use a cheap Airlink Wireless network card connecting to
a Linksys router. If I can get to the internet using my system then everyone
should be able to connect. Hope this helps.

I'm DHCP all of the way. I had to open up, unrestrict, my router and
broadcast my SSID before Vista would connect wirelessly. Then I started
tightening up the security and I was able to turn WEP back on, re-enable MAC
addressing, and get everything back except for the SSID. Once I turned it
off I could not connect to my wireless network when I rebooted. I turned in
a trouble report on the problem and was told that it would be corrected in
RC1. Until then I will keep my SSID active.
