I'm liking vista alot but I'm annoyed that vista doesn't continue an
interrupted download but starts over if stopped. When using xp, if for any
reason a download was stopped, it would begin from where the download quit as
long as the file was being saved in the same folder. Overall I'm satisfied
with vista 64 bit premium.

Hi,

Run services.msc from the search box and check that the BITS service is set
to automatic. This service, background intelligence transfer service or
BITS, is responsible for picking up interrupted downloads. It should be no
different than in XP.

Thanks for the information. Bits is set to automatic (delayed start) status.
I remember seeing something about bits shortly after installing vista and I
may have disabled it due to my narrowband connection. Automatically
downloading updates will kill my connection if I'm doing anything else with
it and I play online games often. I guess delayed start status doesn't
enable continuation of interrupted downloads but at least I know what the
problem is. Thanks again :)
