Vista desktop crashes

I am using Vista Home Premium and now I find that, when I right-click on a
desktop icon to delete it, I get the message "Windows Explorer has stopped
working," the desktop clears all icons then renews and I am back to square
one. What is the problem and how do I correct it?

It sounds like a bad context menu extension in explorer.
This program will list your context menu extensions and allow to to disable them,
one at a time, until you find the culprit.
