vista delay

Well... partly true but I still think it's been exaggerated somewhat. All
the editions will still need a lot of tweaking, and each edition will be
different from the other. However, yeh a lot of dead code needs to be taken
out (and will by the time Beta 2 gets released) and therefore performance
will speed up, and yeh some bits will need tweaking as well :o)

I hope MS takes time and does this OS right. Better to do it right the
first time than do it over. I suppose media need something negative to
publish. MS take your time, do it right even if it is not released until
2007.

I think that it's a bit of a mis-understanding. I believe that there is much
talk within MS about the need for a virtually complete re-write of the Media
Centre part of Vista. This is why the current release schedule had the
business versions coming out this year (no need to MC in them) and the
consumer next year allowing for a little more time for the re-code.

They will - as I've said before, a direct quote from the beta team:
"We'll release it not a second before it's ready." :o)

Do me a favor, set your Windows Vista Build 5308 Wallpaper on your Desktop
to the one called "System Wallpaper" and tell me what you see? It says
"Windows Code Name Longhorn," which means that this Build still has other
problems besides just the Integrated Media Center, just FYI.

P.S. That Blank Screen at Boot Up (where the Windows Vista Logo should be)
looks real promising, in my opinion (I'm being Sarcastic).

Also the Leads are being changed . The outgoing is retiring and incoming is from another Dept. Concerning the Media Centre it is true but there is a lot more that most are not aware of. Info will be released as needed over time.

It's nice to know that you actually have to tell people when you're being
sarcastic...

While that's true, I wish they'd rewrite the Vista Windows Explorer!

It absolutely sucks!

Change shoud not occur unless it improves on what exists.

I actually liked File Explorer from Win 3.x better than Windows Explorer.
You could show two separate listings at once in two panes of a single
window.
That made moving and copying files so much easier!

Don't worry, the consumer version won't be released until 2007.
