Vista, Defender will not turn-on, but does work(I hope) in ONECARE

Everytime I try to activate/turn on defender via control panel\security it
justs sits there and I cannot clear the screens opened to do this.

Onecare status is good. But how can I get defender to constantly work in the
background? I removed SPYBOT in hopes of using defender.

Any advice welcome
 
Hi dmt2,

Having uninstalled Spybot Search & Destroy
without first fully disabling Spybot Tea TimeÑ
could be the cause of this behavior
