Brand new computer, pre-installed Vista and it freezes and restarts
continually. How can this be?
I have had the OS re-installed again, still the same thing.
What do I do?
I bought this operating system against my better judgement, Apple does not
perform like this.

I don't think this ng can help you.

Take it back to the retailer and demand your money
BACK or ELSE !

Brand New, name brand ( Dell, HP...) ? If so then I would consider it
has defective hardware and return to the store/vendor. Re-installing the
OS won't fix/resolve freezing and BSODs.

Apple's doesn't do it because it's a closed system - tightly controlled by
Apple. PCs would perform in a similar fashion if Microsoft exerted the
same level of control. (Hardware/Applications). Look at the differences
between available hardware & software between an Apple and a PC.

If you bought it against your better judgment, and would prefer an Apple
machine, why are you here? Take the machine back to the vendor and
complain..

Apples do crash anyway, which is quite worrying considering the fact that
everything is specifically written and manufactured for them..

Go back to the seller and demand a Vista DVD and use it to do a Startup
Repair.

Do you get a BSOD with a stop error that could provide info? Does
eventvwr.msc in run box >system provide any helpful error messages?

Do you get any errors when it crashes? Are there any errors in the event
logs? Look in the Reliability and Performance Monitor for clues as to what
is happening.

For what it's worth I agree with the other posts. If it's a brand new
computer and you haven't added any programs or hardware then it may be a
defective computer. In any case your first line of support is the tech
support of the computer manufacturer. Have you contacted them?
