We just purchased a new system with VISTA pre-loaded. We've successfully
loaded a cd, which requires the internet. We've opened the internet, then
minimized, but when we open the game, it indicates it cannot locate the
internet & it's not open.(?) This cd shows compatibility with Windows 98, XP
and XP Pro, but does not mention VISTA. (made before Vista...) Do others have
problems w/older CD"s and vista?

Yes, and some go to the software author web site to check for patches,
fixes, updates etc. You might want to try that..

It all depends on the individual program. Go to the game's website and
see if there are updates, known issues, patches, etc. Your game is
apparently not compatible with Vista. You may be able to run it under
Compatibility Mode (refer to Vista's Help for details) but the first
place to look for help is with the game's tech support people and/or any
user forums for it.

It won't work! Don't try to install it! you might never be able to remove
it,... i speak from expericance

Hi Norman,

It may not be able to handle the new network stack. You'd have to check with
the program vendor for known compatibility issues, possible workarounds,
required patches, or necessary upgrades to work in Vista.
