I have a situation with 2 new laptops (clients), and 1 new desktop (aka
server), all running vista home premium.
The computers have no firewall software added (uninstalled NIS 07), and the
desktop has windows firewall disabled (turned off).
The "server" has 2 shares, and has 2 users. Share1 both users can acess.
Share2 can only be accessed by user1.
The 2 client computers can connect, but are forced into typing in the user
credentials ( no, none of the computers have matching credentials). So it
works for at least 1 hour, then they can no longer access the shares, until
the "server" is rebooted.
I do not see why this should happen. I have no problems doing this in XP,
many times. Is there an inactivity timer or something I need to look at?
