I can't get my new Gateway laptop Model MT6821 to sleep when I choose the
High Performance mode in the Power Options. How can I accomplish this? I
would like it to happen when I close the lid.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Rick

Yes, I have tried customizing the power saving modes and specifying the lid
action in the power options. I have tried all of the power modes and the
only one that will allow the sleep function is the Balanced mode.

Thanks for your response. Do you have any other suggestions that I could try.

I would suspect that High Performance disables this option. Have you tried
customizing the power saving modes and/or specifying the lid action in the
power options?

No, it doesn't disable Sleep, but you need to check the advanced settings.
There, you can assign functions for lid close, sleep button, and power
button, for both battery and AC use, for each power setting.

Guess I should have read ahead before responding <g>. Can you get into sleep
by flicking the power button, or using the Start/Shutdown menu? If those are
also blocked, I'm wondering about BIOS settings for the power management.
I'm able to get into sleep on my HP laptop from any power mode...
