Vista Calendar Won't Alert

Hi,

I've got Vista Ultimate sp1 with all updates. My problem is that I
simply can't get the calendar to alert me of events except when I sign
on to the account.

I do have "Reminders shoulod show when Windows Calendar is not running"
and "Play sound for reminders" checked under Options.

Can anyone help me get what would really be a useful function for me
working?

It's bad design. It doesn't work.
