anyone use the Windows Calendar? pretty cool if you dont have Outlook
installed. when you create an appt. you can set a reminder to pop up and
remind you of it. in the options of Calendar by default reminders are set to
show even when Calendat isnt running.... but it doesnt work.

set an appt. with a 5min reminder then close Calendar.... no reminder in 5
mins. but as soon as you open Calendar again youll get the reminder

mine works just fine, have used days and hours reminder as well as the snooze feature.

could you look at your scheduled tasks for me?

my "windowscalendar" task is set to with 2 triggers...

"one time" at 626am on 1/30
"at log on"

maybe this is supposed to be running every minute?

Well Troy, you're ahead of me I think. All I did was to make a normal
calendar appointment for a half hour away, set the notify for 15 minutes,
and close the program. At 15 minutes until the designated appointment time,
Windows Calendar opened automatically, on it's own, and reminded me about
the appointment.

From your response below, I think you may be talking about something else. I
could not figure out what you were referring to. I did try to create a
scheduled "task", but all it would do is set the day, not the time.

Beats me...

Troy,

My schedular shows a 'reminders' task tha thas triggers for 10:14 on
2/11/2007 (tomorrow) and at login.

My Calendar does work without my starting it. Has been reminding me to make
car rental reservations every day now for about a week.

no no ... when you set an appt. in Calendar, a scheduled task is CREATED in
windows for you... to pop up the reminder. but the triggers are all
nonsense...

interesting... my triggers are all screwed up then. i confirmed this
behavior on another machine also. setting an appt., the only scheduled task
triggers are a one time trigger thats in the past, and an "at logon" task

i deleted the "windowscalendar" scheduled task and re-ran calendar. a new
scheduled task was created and the triggers now work
