Vista Boot Failures

I'm getting occasional boot failures with Vista. These occur randomly even
though no hardware or software changes have been made. The system is actually
triple boot and no failures occur with XP Home or XP Pro. On failure a report
is sent to MS but so far nothing has come back as to the reason. After the
most recent failure I chose Safe Mode but the computer went straight into
normal operation (with the usual 'Windows has recovered from a serious error'
message.

Why don't you turn off automatic restart so you can get the error message.
You also could look in the dump file or Dr Watson file to see what the error
is.

I don't see how Automatic restart relates to a boot failure since it does not
restart automatically. Similarly no dump file is created as afr as I know
since the computer does not start.

Lets see, Vista knows to send the error message that it is recovering from
a serious error, but Windows hasn't started, Think. Good luck.
