Is there any way to add other programs to autoplay in vista? 'Cos I don't
like to use the defaults.

Did you even read what I asked?

I am trying to add handlers to the AutoPlay box in Vista. In Windows XP'zachd [MSFT said:So: what exactly are you trying to do here?
I was able to do this easily with the TweakUI PowerToy provided by
Microsoft.
'zachd [MSFT said:The appropriate thing to do is to have the
vendor take the simple steps to add this registration. This actually
is really easy for them to do. You hacking the system is much
less effective for the world community than your vendor actually
supporting this the right way. =)
That would be better...except that not everything is that simple. I can
(or should be able to) do it immediately by myself, rather than wait
months/years for the vendor to add the ability.
Also, how does that work
with software whose vendor no longer exists? Or software that has been
discontinued? Or older versions of new software that are no longer
supported?
I've read every posting on this issue and I'm still not getting a clear and
specific response -- probably because the posters are using different
versions of English.

I am running Vista 32 on a quad-core machine. I have a burning application
that's both Vista-based and quad-core enabled that I prefer to use. Autoplay
recognized it as a choice for burning "blank CD" but it does not appear as an
option for "blank DVD".
My Control Panel does NOT have an icon named "Hardware and Sound" but it DOES
have one named "Autoplay." I do not understand how your reply in any way
responds to my posting.
