Christine--
1)I've not seen any build since 7/05 through RC2 give Vista a connection
problem with Yahoo--any of its sites or email. Are yahoo urls the only ones
you can't reach? Any other problems with IE7 browsing to sites?
Try doing these things;
1) Try hitting windows +R keys>run box type in cmd>and type ping -t
www.yahoo.com or
http://mail.yahoo.com and type it this way:
ping -t (space after the word ping)
www.yahoo.com or whatever site is giving
you difficulty.
That will allow you continuous pinging. Do about 30 of these and then stop
it by hitting the Ctrl+S keys or the site will begin to think you're
attackingit if you let it go.
S is easy to remember as standing for "stop"
2) Run SFC by typing in your run box sfc /scannow with a space before the
slash.
3) Reregister as many of the .dlls in this XP MSKB (not every one will
register in vista but most of them if not all but one will):
The Window You open in IE displays a blank page
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;902932
(I know a lot of Vista IE7 tailored MSKBs haven't been written yet and will
take months, but many XP MSKBs have useful application--it's a case by case
basis and dpeends on the issue and files involved often). I just see what
works in this transition stage until the Vista team writers get articles out
and that's going to be a while--the OS has been the priority for the teams
obviously.
Good luck,
CH
