Evey time, I run vmware 4.53, I get error:

'Vmware Workstation unrecoverable error:(Vmx). Exception 0x000000d has
occurred. A core file is available in
c:\users\username\Appdata\roaming\vmware\vmware-376.dmp."

I guess 4.53 has been killed by vista. I tried to install 2 different
Linux and upon reboot all I got was "grub:>"/

Any way to run Vmware 4,53 under build 5600 of Vista?

thanks

I have VMWare 5.5.1 and installed it on Vista.

I copied a zipped VM to the Vista Machine, unzipped it and tried to run it.

The client is win XP pro eng with vs2005 installed inside the VM. The whole
caboodle iz 'virgin'

It gave me a message from somewhere inside it saying that the OS was version
6 and not supported BUT it continued running and I was able to start the
vs2005 inside the virgin XP.

I have not delved too deeply into the vs2005 because I had bad experiences
with it on my WIN XP pro production machine BUT it did 'run'.

I use VM extensively to have various language versions of various OS
available for testing since our products are multilingual.

I suppose you can ask VM when they will be supporting Vista but at the
moment, it seems to be 'on ice'.
