Has anyone been able to sync their Treo700 with Vista's Mobile Device Center?
I'm running Windows Vista RC1 Build 5600 and Outlook Beta 12.0.4017.1006.

Thanks,
Garry.

I did not think that the Office beta was supported for syncing.....

yes but you have to download the Windows Mobile Device center update. There
is a hack you do to the registry and then plug in your treo and do a windows
update and it will show up. I don't remember where I got this or what the
hack is. But google for it and I bet you will find it.

The hack was to initially get Mobile device center loaded, now it is
available for download so the hack is no longer needed:

Well I was able to sync once - but I had to "force" the sync from my treo
700w rather than hitting thye sync button in the sync center. Oddly enough
when I hoit the sync button in the sync center all I get is a "sync
requested" status and nothing happens. Meanwhile I am tapping on the
activesync app on my treop 700w (connected to be laptop via usb) and hoping
that it will re-establish and sync once again.
RC1, Office 2007 (beta2) and WMDC beta 3.
How I got it to work that one time I ahv e no clue, but it hasn't worked
since - I would appreciate any feedback
Peter

WMDC is compatible with mobile devices running Windows Mobile 2003 SE and
later versions. Which version are you running?

The Treo 700W is a verizon phone, running on 5.0 with the latest updates
(I'ma bit of a fanatic when it comes to staying up to date...)

The off thing is thta I was able to sync again last night after posting, but
the WMDC never recognized that the sync was successful - and the sync center
still had a status of "sync requested" despite several refersh attempts on my
part (F5).

I just don't understand why I can't just plug the PDA in, request a sync
through the sync center and have it kickoff immediatly. I'm not syncing with
a server - just the tablet so it doesn't get any more basic regarding
setup/partnership.

I know this is beta, but I would appreciate any feedback on why I can force
a sync from my PDA but I cannot force a sync through either the WMDC or the
Sync Center screens.

Thanks

Sounds like a bug.

I would post to a newsgroup relating to the product:
microsoft.public.pocketpc
microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync
