I suggest you post this question in a Vista support forum. This group is for
the Microsoft Access database program, and it's not clear that you're talking
about *Access* service packs.

Yes, I am referring to Access Service Packs. I have had corruption problems
with my most recent database and gotten the error message that says something
like error accessing file, you may have lost network connection. I am not on
a network, just a single database on my pc. The research on this discussion
site indicated that the installation of these service packs, particularly #3
would prevent this problem from reoccurring.

However, when I went to the Microsoft website to download, it doesn't
mention Vista as being supportive. Doesn't say it isn't, just doesn't include
it among the other Windows operating systems.

I would really really appreciate help here, because I don't know what to do.

I don't have Vista installed so I can't test it, but I cannot imagine that it
will cause any problems. Take an image backup of your disk just in case, and
try it.

Like the esteemed John W. Vinson states You shouldn't have a problem
with Office SPs on Vista.
