Vista and Outlook2003 Import Contacts

On a new Vista Ultimate machine I have installed Outlook2003 as part of
Office Professional Edition 2003. It works except that the "Import from
another program" option just glows when you click it instead of taking you to
the pst file selection stage.
I see there is a Service Pack 4 which seems to be for Vista compatibility
but it is for "Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Update". Will this
work if I don't have Business Contact Manager update installed? I don't want
this feature (whatever it is) - I just want to run Outlook 2003 with it's
Service Pack 2.
Grateful for any advice here.

Perhaps I didn't make it clear.
I simply want to copy my contacts from the old XP machine to the new Vista
machine. I have done this dozens of times before by Export, then Import
steps without problems between XP machines.
The links you provide also support this method.

You never import Outlook data.
Just open your old data file and either reuse it or copy what you want from
it.
Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

You were clear.
Was I not?
Read this group. No experienced Outlook user ever trusts their data to the
import process. Neither should you.

I am aware of the limitations.
Perhaps I should change my question to focus on Service Pack 4. Is this
needed for Oulook 2003 SP2 (without Business Contact manager Update) to
operate properly with Vista Ultimate 32bit? Is there a SP3 and must this be
installed before SP4?
Thanks.

No idea. AFAIK, Office 2003 is still at SP2: 11.8118.8132
I've seen no issues like the one you are reporting. Maybe someone else has.
Are you certain your Importers and Exporters are installed correctly?
