Hello...

I can't seem to install iTunes on Windows Vista Enterprise. It tells me
"VBScript is not installed or has been disabled. Make sure it is installed.
turn off script blocking, reregister VBScript and reinstall iTunes. "

I can't get past this and I can't seem to find a solution.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian

For what its worth, I have installed version 7.0.2.16 on Vista Ultimate with
no problems. It works except it won't connect to an iPod. I'm sure this
will be coming soon.

I just wanted to offer that as a bit of hope for you; it can be done.

Yeah...good to hear...I just don't know why it wont install on mine...I've
looked around for the scripting functions and I can't seem to get it to
install.

How strange. I have iTunes 7.02.16 running on Vista Ultimate x64 RTM
and it connects and syncs happily to my 8GB Nano. I've not had to do
anything fancy, it just installed and worked first time.

I have UAC disabled, if that helps.

Jim

The difference is probably having UAC disabled. That makes it less in the
strange category; you'd expect completely different behavior in legacy
applications with UAC off versus UAC on.

Thanks for the tip. The OP can choose to disable UAC if he doesn't want to
wait for Apple to come out with a patch.

I have no problems with UAC or iPod updating, although I may have had UAC off
when I installed iTunes. (I turned UAC off for a while when I was installing
software. It's on again now.)

You can always right-click on iTunes.exe and set it to run as administrator.
That should take care of any UAC issues.

I did that as well..."run as administrator" and the same error about
VBScript shows up...thus, I still can't use iTunes and I can't go back to XP
for now (testing our apps for work.)

have you searched this group for the term vbscript leaving iTunes out of the
search? There have been some other threads about vbscript in Vista. Those
threads may give you some hints. There seems to be other issues with
vbscript in Vista.
