I am a Dungeon's and Dragons Online (DDO) player. I just upgraded to Windows
Vista Home Basic.
Now, I have noticed when I play this game in full screen mode 1440x900 (all
options on) I get around 20-25 frames per second (fps). When I drop the
resolution to 800x600, I still only get 20-25 fps. When I turn off all of
the options, and put the settings in lowest quality mode, I still get 20-25
fps.
Now, here is the goofy part. I drop this to a window at (Higest Res)
1440x900, I get 60 fps, with all options on. So I do know that my computer
is capable of displaying this game in fluid motion with all graphic options
available.
So my question is, why do I get a significantly lower frame rate in full
screen mode, but at the same resolution get a much higher frame rate in
windowed mode?
