Vista and Dx10

I just read from one gaming magazine that dx10 is going to ge released ONLY
to Windows Vista.

Is this true?

If it is then Microsoft spits to face for all those who are purhased legal
windows XP.
Because after Dx10 is released all games are using it and all who wants play
new PC -games needs to have Vista.

I think this is again (like with IE) wrong usage of dominating market
position.
I hope that EU will do something to this. If this is the case.

OTOH, it's really up to game developers to decide whether they only want to
target DX10/Vista users. I think DX9 support's got a few more years left in
it...

Windows XP won't just self-destruct when Vista is released.
Because after Dx10 is released all games are using it and all who wants
play
new PC -games needs to have Vista.

Other than Halo 2, it'll be a few years before you start seeing games that
only target Windows Vista. It was a good 4 years or so after the release of
Windows XP that game companies stopped supporting Windows 9x.

That might happen in 2009 - 2010 , untill then games will still support dx9.
XP will represent the bulk of the window user market untill 2008, and even when their is only 30% of the people
using XP what manufacturer will ignore 1/3 of their market ?

Dx9 will be here untill the end of the decade.

But if you want to run the games in Dx10 mode, first get a Dx10 graphic card when they come out...
