Synapse Syndrome

The fact that the web site is hosted from Christmas Island does not
necesarily mean that the author of the web site is also on Christmas
Island. You don't have to be a resident of Switzerland to have a Swiss
bank account.

The guy in question lives in Australia and is a total mental case. It seems
that if you mention his name on the MS newsserver, the post gets cancelled!!

Would you please back that up with fact and figures.
No-one will cancel your post except if it contains
defamatory statements.

Try it yourself. Anytime I make any post that says his name, it doesn't
appear on the server.

Here is the name :

K-a-d-a-i-t-c-h-a M-a-n

pssst. Don't confuse poor "Troy McClure" and his bigoted little mind with
facts like this. It'll only end in confusion.

Considering that the name is written the folk lore of the aboriginals, and
it is also in a movie title, then why would Microsoft ban it completely?
That is pure censorship! It is as bad as Internet filters at libraries that
block the word breast as indicating porn and as a result no one can even
research breast cancer.

Censorship of any time in any place makes no sense.

Dale

Another fallacy in the theory that you can squash knowledge by book burning
is the fact that, just because that name is banned on the newsgroups, I am -
and I am sure many others are - now looking him up. Book burning only makes
people want to know even more what was in the book that made it so important
it had to be burned.

That man must be one powerful and important person to Microsoft in order to
get even the mention of his name banned. I'm surprised, Synapse, that
you're not banned for having mentioned it.

I wonder if I will ever be that important. In the Media Player groups, Zach
(the Microsoft employee who used to post in those newsgroups) has referred
to me as evil and vile - practically the devil himself. I'm obviously on
the right track.

Dale

"I'm obviously on the right track"
Do you use language that is offensive to almost everyone that says anything
that even hints at disagreeing with something you say?
Do you post in such a way that mail providers continually revoke your
account because you continually violate the TOS?
Do you host a website that moves and changes often because of TOS
violations?
Do you regularly display complete disrespect and ignore even the most basic
of courtesies.

If no to any of those, you are not even close.
You are on the wrong track if you have any ambition to follow in the steps
of kman.

It has nothing to do with book burning or other censorship, it is his near
total disregard for any authority anywhere.
No one does it to him, kman does it all to himself.

No, no, no, and no. So I am not on the right track at all.

Just the same, when you ban a phrase, you also ban legitimate use of that
phrase. It is a scary proposition.

Dale

What about those who want to research the use of those phrases as a teaching
tool to teach against hate and prejudice?

To pretend bad things don't exist is to ensure that they will always exist.

Dale

Research it all you like.
