hello,

I have just run vista advisor on a dell latitude c400

on the results screen there is a big tick saying "your computer can run
vista", however...

on the "system" page it says the graphics card will not support the vista
aero user experience

then on the "devices" page it says the video card is incompatible with
vista.

now I'm really confused. so I can run vista but I won't be able to use the
display - surely that doesn't warrant a big tick !!

can someone explain what all this means please

Andy

ok thanks

so really the big tick at the top of the screen was a bit of an exaggeration
of the truth :-)

It means that in the worst case only a basic VGA mode driver will be
available for your display adapter.

It's completely factual - your computer WILL run Vista but you'll lose out
on some of the video acceleration, eye candy like Aero, and so on. But it
WILL run Vista fine.
